This was actually an e-mail sent back and forth between my friend and I. A little bit of background. My friend recently moved to New York and was looking to get involved with the community. She joined an organization that finds volunteers to walk dogs for people who are physically unable to walk their dogs themselves. Keep in mind my friend is the type of person who is pretty reserved, especially upon first meeting someone and overall quite modest but I should mention she is a very snappy dresser and has a fabulous sense of humor.

I started with my dog-sitting...it's been a bit dramatic. I took him to the dog park a couple times, and there were fights both times! He's kind of a scrapper, so he got involved in the after-fighting :) He's really stubborn, too - I think he gets mad when I make him leave the park and just refuses to walk. After carrying him home once, I'm currently trying to show him who's boss!! His owner (Sandy) is really nice - extremely chatty - the whole outing always turns into a 4 hr affair. She likes to show me her scrapbooks of her 'then and now' designs. Did I tell you she was a fashion designer? Well, she takes all her sketches from the 70s/80s and compares them to magazines today - its pretty interesting. She had me try on one of her coats one day I was over there...it was this super-glam coat with a huge exaggerated collar and a full skirt - she wanted me to wear it to the dog park (i said no :). I think I could talk about this lady all day....I get some great stories out of it!
E-mail #2 - After I responded that I laughed hysterically at the note before.
Well, you might like this one, too....
this lady has lyme disease and really terrible arthritis - she has trouble getting around. the joints in her hands and feet are mis-figured b/c of the arthritis. so she always wear crocs that happen to be a couple sizes too large b/c of the big joints - they're lightweight and don't bother her knees. so, i went over there on sunday and i had on these privo by clarks shoes (have you seen those - they're comfy but cute/sporty)...and you know me, it takes me awhile to develop a comfort level with pple....
ok, so she was really into my shoes and wanted to know if they were lightweight, etc - so i took one off and handed it to her so she could feel its weight. as soon as she grabbed the shoe and started walking away from me, towards the couch to take a seat, i realized she was about to put her barefoot in my shoe!!!!!!! i stood horrified, powerless to stop it! i was cringing on the inside when she asked me to get her spare pair of crocs out of her closet so we could trade...?!
